On November 2nd, VOTE for the TEAM who offer a Tradition of Service to DUBOIS COUNTY
County Commissioner
John G. Burger
Commissioner John Burger is a fifth generation farmer who knows how to operate, develop and expand a successful business.
As a public servant, he served 10 years as a Dubois County Council member. Since then he has spent 8 years as a county commissioner, where he has been a champion of conservative fiscal policies. Examples of his value-driven leadership include the establishment of a countywide
transportation system for $7,000/year, the development of a public information 211 system for $10,000/year, and instituting changes to the county employee healthcare plan which saved Dubois County taxpayers an average of $100,000/year.
Burger knows that county government must continue to be responsive to the needs of the citizens, and by holding Commissioner meetings in all Dubois County communities has reached out to every resident.
He sits on the Department of Workforce Development Region 11 board, where he has served as chairman of the Workforce innovation for Regional Economic Development Committee. He was instrumental in bringing a $5 million grant to the region. Burger has been married to his wife, Cathy, for 16 years. They have 4 children, Jordan-15, Olivia-12, Emily-10, and Caleb-8.
