On November 2nd, VOTE for the TEAM who offer a Tradition of Service to DUBOIS COUNTY
Council Member: Disctrict One
Mark A. Brescher
Mark Brescher has announced his candidacy for Dubois County Council. He is running for his third term. Mark’s goals as Councilman have always been to keep Dubois County in the forefront of Indiana counties and to keep tax rates as low as possible without lowering the quality of life for Dubois County residents.
As Auditor of Dubois County from 1992 – 2000, Mark held offices of President and Vice-President of the Southwest District of the Association of Indiana Counties. He was also the President of the Southwest Auditors Association and in 1999 was chosen to receive the award of Outstanding Auditor of the State of Indiana at the annual Commissioners Conference. During the time that he was County Auditor, he worked very closely with the County Council as Secretary. He is available to listen to the ideas of local residents who wish to express their views of how county government could better serve and benefit our Dubois County taxpayers.
Mark is the son of Allen and Aline Brescher of Ireland. He is married to the former Diane Buechlein of Jasper who is a first grade teacher at Fifth Street Elementary School in Jasper. They are the proud parents of seven children: Heather (Mrs. Ward) Furniss of Evansville, Kade, who lives with his wife Emily in Pittsborro, Indiana, Jace, Sean, Tara, Grant, and Ali. They have two grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Ireland, Mark graduated from Jasper High School in 1973 and from the Purdue University Short Course in Agriculture in 1974. He is currently a member of the Ireland Lions Club, Ireland Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He is Director of the Indiana State Hereford Association and a member of the Dubois County Cattlemen Association.
