Safety and Security. Making neighborhoods and homes safer and more secure through the cooperative efforts of involved citizens and law enforcement officers equipped with the best available technologies to identify and justly punish dangerous criminals and protect the innocent.

Strong Military. A United States made strong and secure by moral, economic, and diplomatic leadership, as well as military might. Democrats believe we can both defend this nation and preserve the Constitution. The United States Armed Forces should be properly equipped and have a plan of action any time it is called into harms way.

Democrats believe that when we send our armed forces in harms way we should always have a solid plan of action. Democrats never forget the sacrifices that our men and women make today, but also the veterans who served in past wars.

Strong Economy.  Democrats believe in providing economic security for all hardworking people through better access to quality health care and child care, affordable insurance, prescription drug coverage, and comprehensive health care for every child. We also believe in providing American workers and businesses, and especially small businesses, both the basic infrastructure and advanced technology required to succeed in a changing economy -- instead of sending jobs overseas.

Morality. Democrats believe in leaders who want to serve the best interests of the people and not fall to the money and corruption of lobbyists and fundraisers.

Safe Air, Water, Food, and Medicine. We believe in preserving our precious natural resources, safe and clean air and water, and our quality of life.

Right to Privacy. Democrats believe in freedom from government interference in our private lives and full protection of civil and human rights. Family and personal decisions should be made without fear of government interaction as according to law.

Equal Opportunity and Rights. Equal opportunity for all to achieve and succeed in their efforts to get a quality education, find a good job, buy a home, provide health care for their families, and exercise their right to participate in our democratic system and have their vote count.

Family Values. Democrats believe in strong family values and an environment where our children can grow up and become productive citizens and have an opportunity to become the future leaders of this great country.

Living Wage. Democrats believe in rewarding honest hard work with a livable wage and a tax system that is fair to all taxpayers.

Fair Taxes. Democrats believe in a fair tax system where the wealthiest of taxpayers are not getting the greatest tax cuts while the middle and lower classes are being squeezed tighter every year.

Quality Education. Democrats believe in the essential importance of education to American democracy and economic opportunity. We believe in providing every child with a quality public education in a safe, secure school, as well as affordable access to the higher education and career education programs essential for good-paying jobs and a strong state and national economy.

Individual Strengths. Democrats believe in the benefits derived from the individual strengths of our diverse population. We have a rich history full of diverse cultures and traditions that every one of us can be proud of.
