Vote Smart

Registering to vote is easy!

Changes in the registration laws from "Motor Voter" legislation has practically eliminated the obstacles, and the excuses, from registering to vote.

Indiana provides an easily completed form called the "Indiana Mail-In Voter Registration Application".  The form is available at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the Welfare Office, the County Clerk's Office, the Health Dept and one was included with your Indiana Department of Revenue Income Tax booklet.  (If you mail in your registration form, you must include a photocopy of your driver's license.

The "Registration Application" can be used to register to vote in Indiana and to change your name or address for your voter registration record.

To register, you must:

        * be a citizen of the United States; and

        * be at least 18 years old on the day of the next general or municipal election; and

        * have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days before the next election; and

        * not currently be in prison after being convicted of a crime.

Your right to vote has been defended for over two centuries.

Exercise it!
